Look at this point if something in a TV show feels off, my first, immediate response is, “who in the corporate office fucked them over?”
Wonky writing? Something feels rushed? Animation errors? First question should be, “Who was fucking over the production team? What were the censorship notes? Was this what the team actually wanted to do, or were they strong-armed?”
I think a lot of y'all are way too fast to blame the writers and animators for issues that wouldn’t exist if the studio executives and the censors weren’t fucking it up for everyone.
Pay the writers. Pay the actors. Pay the animators. And for god’s sake, stop blaming them for industry-wide issues that the unions are actively trying to fight against.
I think part of it is because animators and show runners are more accessible these days than they ever used to be, and often have to give bullshit answers when pressed on these issues because if they tell the truth they lose their jobs.
This makes it stupidly easy for ppl to fall into the trap of thinking if they point the finger at the showrunners/staff, they can actually change things.
But while sometimes it really is the case of a bad writer/showrunner (like with Sherlock and Danny Phantom,) more often then not people’s problems with a show have to do with studio meddling (Like with Steven Universe, Voltron, Promised Neverland, and so much more)
And it sucks because it’s a million times easier to @ Rebecca Sugar and call her a bad person than it is to tackle systematic issues, you don’t get an easy response, you don’t get the dopamine of feeling like your voice was heard, but it’s the only way to actually change things for the better.

the woman in the river shows me an axe of silver and asks if it is the one I lost. I respond that it is. she produces an axe of gold and asks the same question again. I shamefully look away, not sure whether I’m comfortable admitting that I was dual wielding
she stares at me in abject confusion as I take stock of my tools. a look of dissatisfaction brews on her face. “but why is one golden?” the woman asks.
I tug nervously at my coat, feeling the slightest bit insulted. “well, it’s not cheap to have a matching pair,” I tell her. “not everyone can afford two golden axes.”
“why not two silver axes?”
“I had the money for one golden axe.”
the woman crosses her arms. “but the gold is worse for everything you’d want an axe to do.”
“it’s not. it was more expensive and also really hard to find.”
“gold” she says, “is softer than silver.”
“it’s literally not, though,” I say. “that’s a really common misconception, but pure silver is softer than gold.”
“most metal sold as silver is actually an alloy. that axe is probably sterling silver. I don’t believe for a second someone made you a pure silver axe.”
I look at my axe, then back to the woman, then back to my axe.
“it was pure silver when it went into the river.”
an unreadable expression. with a great splash, the woman disappears into the current.
for three days and three nights, I wander along the river’s edge, hoping to find the woman again. I throw rocks, twigs, and once or twice a weird looking animal into the water. it’s all to no avail.
on the final evening, I see a glint at the river’s mouth. I run as quickly as I can, knowing I’ve finally found… oh for fuck’s sake, it’s just silver-plated. I lob the awful thing into the river with a huff.
“how can you tell?” asks the woman, peeking out of the water. “that could be the one you’ve lost.”
“it’s not.”
“but you won’t cut your losses and move on,” she gestures wide, “one axe the richer?”
“that’s too wide of a gesture for a cheap knick knack,” I say, gesturing modestly in some approximation of how much I think the silver-plated axe is worth. the woman seems annoyed.
“I’ve been telling you, you have your real axe. the gold axe is the one that sucks.”
“so what?” I spit. “are you suggesting I just use two cheap silver axes instead of my cool pure silver and gold axes?”
Also, Nazi has shit form. No conditioning, tires quickly. Footwork is sloppy and way too high. Punches from the shoulder not the hip. Slow retractions. Form is unrefined, ugly, overconfident.
Um I need money to help me move back to WA. The medical care I get here in SD is not adequate for someone as medically complex as me. My pain doctor ghosted me so now I don’t have access to the pain medications I need to survive and be kept out of the hospital, other docs don’t seem to take my symptoms seriously, and I’m over it. Also, ever since I was told I’m essentially terminally ill two years ago, I’ve decided I want to be near my siblings and other family for whatever time I have left. Ever since I got Covid in November, my health is rapidly declining and honestly I don’t know if I even have five years left in me at this point. My parents can help me with some of the moving costs, but I don’t want to be a huge financial burden to them as they already have my two younger siblings to take care of, so any help I can get will be greatly appreciated. I have to be out of this apartment by August 31st. Hopefully when I move out there I’ll have a job again with my mom who can accommodate my needs, but for now I haven’t been working. Thanks.
Hi an update I found out my mom actually won’t pay for everything like she fucking promised. I estimate I’ll owe her around $1,230 for all of my moving costs. I know when I start to work for her she’ll take shit out of my paychecks, so I think I’ll be working for free for awhile. I could really use help to supplement my income until then.
at dinner people were talking about how much they cried during their weddings and my one cousin said she was SO determined not to cry, made it through the entire ceremony, but then during the reception her husband leaned over and asked ‘hey, do you want me to get together a plate of roast beef and hide it in our room so we can have Night Meats?’ and she went ’night meats?’ and started sobbing because that was so romantic to her
